Fifty Shades the film?!
I must be the only one in the world who is depressed by the fact Universal are thinking of turning the series of books into a film/s..... How can thousands of people be wrong? - I hear you ask..... Think tiger bone/rhino horn - medicine? All those Chinese (all one billion of them) who think it works when scientifically proven not to be any more effective than a mild pain killer. Everyone else knows it's wrong!
I am also very depressed and angered by so many women so happy to wash over the abuse in the book to "find" the perfect romance. Young girl goes through hell to get the man of her dreams - "so romantic", if you saw your friend going through something similar would you not try to stop them? I know it's a book, but really, people think it's ok that someone has her virginity taken just so he can "MAKE" her his sub?
"Oh but it happened to him and he's just exorcising his demons" - doubt that would stand up in court. I know, I know it's a book, but there is no realisim within the fantsay.
There have been times in my life when I was in a very bad situation and reading this is bringing back bad memories (not BDSM) but the mind games. The "I don't want a relationship with you but I don't want anyone else to have you." Very unhealthy, yet because he's handsome and good in bed it's all ok. Oh and the "but he wants to change"... Sorry, if he were to change it will not be with you, you will bring back memories he will want to move on from, start a fresh. Execpt in this book of course.

Fifty Shades the film....no the MUSICAL!!!
After watching Sweeny Todd I was thinking about other stories that could be turned into a musical, with The Bodyguard and Viva Forever! on their way it seemed appropriate to think of other stories. So what else but the flavour (albeit vanilla) of the month 50 Shades. Several songs that could be used sprang to mind:

Fanfiction of fancition?
With all the hype and obsession (I admit I can't stop it with the 50 shades thing) around this book, maybe it's time to start fanfiction of fanfiction i.e. fanfiction of 50 Shades of Grey.
Stories where we get to read how the anti-hero treats his vicitims in all it's duck tape glory....or failing that just ripping from the Dexter tv show, or how the heroine tells the "hero" just where to go. Or even better she takes him to court on counts of abuse; and thus follows the ensuing court case and media coverage as "well known business tycoon is branded a pervert and abuser". Could even get some jibs about hacking in there too, make it nice and topical.
We could change it again, make it a more he's and man/child unable to control himself and she encourages him to vent his anger on others, a twist on the sub/dom thing.
50 Shades meets Hellraiser? Now that could be something, I have never read the book, but loved the first film. Mr Grey gets a little too freaky with someone and somehow opens a protal to Pinhead's world where he get's his come-upance.
